Derek takes pride in quality and longevity. The materials used in his tabletops are hand picked and sorted with regard to grain direction, warp, and strength. Derek will work closely with you so that you get exactly what you want— live edge slab, dimensional, crazy design— There is no limit to what you can do.
I want a table
The Table shown in the video below, was produced using reclaimed southern yellow pine floor boards. There were many hours spent removing nails and other foreign objects, milling to usable boards, and then going through the standard steps to make a table of this size (~4x10 feet!)The boards were pulled from a section of floor that was demolished to make way for a grand staircase.
wanting to clean up the boards a bit, as they were littered with nail holes, checks, and cracks. The studio decided the best move was to cut each board in half then book match the newly exposed edges as the top. This makes for a much more suitable writing space.
The table top is without a doubt one of the most touched and used surfaces in your home or business. We’re excited to make whatever you have in mind and we have the knowledge to do it right so it will last.
